The Do’s and Don’ts of a Bathroom Renovation

DO include ventilation. The bathroom is the steamiest room in the house, especially after a long, hot shower. Ensure that fans are installed to whisk moisture away to keep mold at bay and paint in place.

DO consider the types of cleaning materials required. From tiles to fixtures and natural stone to travertine, elements of your bathroom may require different cleaning methods. DON’T use paint and primer in-one on your walls. Since your bathroom is a high-moisture room, use two separate coats of paint; a new drywall primer and moisture resistant paint. This will help prevent your paint from peeling off the walls.
